LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons are well aware of the situation they face with two games remaining and their postseason hopes hanging by a thread. They simply have little room for error heading into their matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.“Unless you’re living in Perth, Australia, or something and you turn your cell phone off, I think you’re aware of it,” coach Arthur Smith said. “It’s just, the reality is nothing matters. When you start to get caught up, it’s just a waste of time. … Nothing matters but Chicago. … Good or bad, you’re just taking energy away from preparing for Sunday. … “If you go out there and you don’t play well in Chicago, then nothing else matters.”The Falcons (7-8) beat Indianapolis 29-10 last week with their best offensive performance this season. They played turnover-free ball and gained 406 yards with Taylor Heinicke starting at quarterback after Desmond Ridder got benched for the second time this season.Heinicke ...U.S. routs Swiss 11-3 at world juniors behind hat trick from Snuggerud; Sweden posts second shutout

GOTHENBURG, Sweden (AP) — Jimmy Snuggerud scored three goals in the first 12 minutes of the game and added an assist as the United States beat Switzerland 11-3 on Thursday at the world junior hockey championship. Will Smith opened the rout 1:20 into the game off a cross-ice pass from Zeev Buium for a one-timer near the net. Snuggerud got his first just two minutes later and he added another at 8:11 before capping his natural hat trick at 12:36.The U.S. led 9-1 after two periods. The Americans outshot Switzerland 40-24, with Jacob Fowler making 21 saves for the win.“I liked our start,” coach David Carle said. “We made them uncomfortable early and that was important. It was a good win and now we’ll turn our attention to an excellent Czech team.”The U.S. (2-0) will play a Czechia team that is 1-1 and coming off an 8-1 rout of Norway. In the only other game on Thursday’s slate, Sweden beat Germany 5-0 behind three goals from Otto Stenburg. INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Jonathan Taylor still laments the lessons learned during Las Vegas’ last trip to Indianapolis in 2021.He played well in that Week 17 contest, rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown, but the Colts failed to clinch a playoff spot on their home field and a week later they were homeward bound for the offseason. The Raiders used that surprise last-second victory to steal a playoff spot.So this week, facing an eerily similar situation, the 2021 NFL rushing champion finds himself giving teammates a short, simple reminder: Take care of business Sunday.“It does (help) because you failed in a sense, so you had the opportunity to learn and especially, with the younger guys, you’re able to teach them or give them a little bit of knowledge that you have from your experience,” Taylor said. “Hopefully, they can take that into consideration, thought, and really put forth the effort, knowing we need to be all gas on the pedal this week.”Indy (8-7) again enters th...“Un duro golpe para el sistema”: los médicos advierten por salida del mercado del inhalador para asma Flovent

Robyn Cohen, neumóloga pediátrica del Boston Medical Center....Tottenham outplayed in 4-2 loss at Brighton to damage top-four credentials in Premier League

BRIGHTON, England (AP) — Tottenham’s top-four credentials were damaged by a miserable performance in a 4-2 loss at Brighton in the Premier League on Thursday.Late goals for Tottenham by Alejo Véliz and Ben Davies gave the score a respectable look but the visitors were outplayed at Amex Stadium by a Brighton team missing up to 10 players through injury.Jack Hinshelwood powered a shot into the roof of the net in the 11th minute and Joao Pedro converted a penalty in the 23rd after Dejan Kulusevski pulled back Danny Welbeck in the area.James Milner also struck the post for Brighton in a first half that saw Tottenham’s defense – missing injured center backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven — get sliced open time and again.Richarlison also hit the post and had a goal ruled out for offside for Tottenham before halftime substitute Pervis Estupinan made it 3-0 with a shot from 25 yards (meters) that flew into the top corner in the 63rd.Joao Pedro scored his second – again from the ...Texans’ Stroud says he’ll start Sunday against Titans after recovering from concussion

HOUSTON (AP) — Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud said Thursday that he will start this weekend against the Tennessee Titans after missing two games recovering from a concussion.“It was tough,” he said. “But my team, they held it down as best as they could and I appreciate that. Now I’m back and I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to just do my job again. It was tough but we’re through it now and I’m excited to play.”Stroud was injured in a Dec. 10 loss to the Jets when his head bounced off the turf after taking a hit with about 6½ minutes left in the fourth quarter.“I’ve had concussions before but this one was probably the worst one I’ve had just because I hit the back of my head and I hit the ground really hard,” he said. “So that was what made it so bad… I (basically) hit my head on cement.” Stroud’s return will be a huge boost to the Texans, who beat the Titans in overtime before losing to the Browns in the past two weeks with Case Keenum filling in for the star rookie. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs are accustomed to playing each other for a spot in the Super Bowl when the snow begins to fly.On Sunday, they are merely playing to get into the playoffs. The Bengals (8-7) have won three of their last four games to keep their AFC wild-card hopes alive, but they desperately need to beat Kansas City (9-6) to give themselves a good shot at making the postseason field. And the Chiefs have lost three of their last four and still need a win, or some help from Las Vegas and Denver, to clinch their eighth straight AFC West title.“It’s so unpredictable year to year what teams are going to rise up,” said Bengals coach Zac Taylor, who has managed to keep his team in the hunt for a third straight playoff appearance despite losing Joe Burrow just 10 games into the season.“You look around the AFC, across the board and the teams still in it,” Taylor continued, “it’s just going to come down to who can figure out how t...Metro’s Red Line construction ends early with normal service resuming Saturday
